Why I love a floral for spring

My fascination with flowers probably started at college, when I created a clothing collection, made entirely of pressed petals and homemade paper. Highly impractical, yet enchantingly beautiful to look at.

My floral obsession later made its way into my home, an array of seasonal blooms clustered into vases, adorning any shelf or fireplace.

I just love that simple idea of bringing the wild inside and now, as we welcome a new clothing season, the idea of head to toe floral dressing.

I recently fell in love with this H&M ditsy floral print, primarily for evoking 1930s summer days, think the movie Atonement with Keira Knightly. The innocently printed design and delicate crochet trims all together add to the feelings of spring.

The co-ord Tie Front Blouse and Wide Leg Trousers are my perfect interpretation of the jumpsuit trend. My post-baby tum not being ready to show itself off, the separate pieces allow me to manipulate my shape, giving the illusion of a one piece without the need for tummy tucking shape-wear.

Admittedly I will be wearing the trousers now with my oversized ivory knitwear and my khaki utility jacket, but that just adds to the versatility of a floral print. Once the weather warms up, I will be able to transform this outfit again, to fit the current weather mood.
